Valentine’s Day Break Up? What to Do With the Unwanted Stuff

Valentine's Day Breakup TrashValentine’s Day is supposed to be about love and showing that special someone how much you care about them. But, it’s not all candy hearts and roses for everyone. Sometimes, Valentine’s Day or the time leading up to or after it can be a big time for break-ups. In fact, nearly one in 14 adults say they’ve broken up with someone on Valentine’s Day. A similar number say they’ve done it shortly before or after. Ouch!

When that happens (and we hope it doesn’t happen to you), there’s a good chance you’re not going to want to keep all the stuff that your now ex gave you. So what do you do with it? If you’ve had your heart broken, you’re likely going to want to toss it all in the trash. If this was a long-term relationship, the number of items you may have from your ex likely added up. You may want to donate some or even try to sell a few to make a couple of bucks. But, if you have some big items that you just don’t want around anymore, a dumpster may be your best bet to get rid of them.

Post-Valentine’s Day Purge with a Dumpster

At Wall Recycling, we offer roll off dumpsters that could be perfect for that post-Valentine’s Day purge. A roll off dumpster gets dropped off at your home and is taken away when you’re done. We can place it in a convenient location to help you purge all of those gifts that you don’t want to see anymore.

A roll off dumpster is convenient because you can get choose in one of five sizes. Unless you’re throwing away some extremely large items, one of our smaller-sized dumpsters (10 or 15 yards) should be sufficient. If you’re not sure if you’ll have enough room, just ask one of our team members at Wall Recycling. We would be happy to help you determine which size is right for you during your post-Valentine’s Day Purge.

While you can put a lot of items in a roll off dumpster, some things are not allowed. These include:

  • Tires
  • Refrigerators
  • Oil and gas containers
  • Car batteries

So if you were storing any types of those things for your ex and want to get rid of them too, you’re going to have to find another way to do it.

But, there are still plenty of items that you can toss in one of our dumpsters if they remind you too much of your ex or if they were a gift that you no longer want. These include:

  • Old clothes
  • Furniture
  • Small appliances

You can toss any of these types of items and not have to think about how they remind you of your ex ever again. We bet you never thought that a company like Wall Recycling could help with your Valentine’s Day break-up, right? We’re here for you when it comes to making a fresh start and decluttering your home from all of those gifts for your ex and their belongings.
