Spring festivals and events in Raleigh NCSpring is here and the Triangle Area is gearing up to bring you fun festivals the entire family can enjoy. Over the past couple of years, the pandemic sidelined many festivals we love in Raleigh, Durham, and surrounding areas. Now as restrictions are being lifted, we can look forward to them once again.

As you start planning your spring activities, here are 10 spring festivals in The Triangle and surrounding areas that you don’t want to miss.

1. 12th Annual North Carolina Cuegrass Festival

  • Where: Downtown Raleigh, NC
  • When: April 16, 2022

The 12th Annual North Carolina Cuegrass Festival is a free event with plenty of music and fun for the entire family. This year the festival is spreading out on Fayetteville and Hargett Streets. 

There will be plenty of musical acts including “Old Habits”, “Big Daddy Love”, and “Hank & Pattie”. Children can play in the kids’ zone and adults can take advantage of the large beer tent.

2. Broadway Our Way Street Festival

  • Where: Broadway, NC
  • When: April 16, 2022

The Broadway Our Way Street Festival features music, vendors, a car show, crafts, food trucks, and even an egg hunt for the kids. There will be other activities for kids to do during the festival as well. Musical acts include “The Voice” finalist Britton Buchanan as well as “Sweet Potato Pie” and “The Potter’s Will”.

3. Brewgaloo 2022

  • Where: Downtown Raleigh, NC
  • When: April 22-23, 2022

Fayetteville St. in Downtown Raleigh, NC, will be turned into a beer lovers’ paradise. Brewgaloo 2022 is coming to town! This is North Carolina’s largest craft beer festival and the second largest in the country. This two-day festival features 110 craft breweries from all over North Carolina as well as local food trucks, bands, and vendors. You’ll want to purchase tickets ahead of time to skip the line and save money on some events.

4. Arbor Day Festival

  • Where: Dix Park in Raleigh, NC
  • When: April 24, 2022

As you look for spring festivals in the Triangle Area, you’ll want to put the Arbor Day Festival in Dix Park on your list. This free event will have kids’ activities, live music, a rain barrel workshop, and more. Organized by the group, We Plant it Forward, this festival will also include food trucks and environmental educator vendors as well.

5. Spring Daze Arts and Crafts Festival in Cary

  • Where: Bond Park in Cary, NC
  • When: April 30, 2022

The Spring Daze Arts and Crafts Festival in Cary is a favorite. Approximately 170 artists are expected to attend this free festival in Bond Park. There will be activities for the kids as well as a festival store and plenty of food. Mark your calendar and make it a day of family fun!

6. Beyond the Book Children’s Book & Art Festival

  • Where: Moore Square in Raleigh, NC
  • When: April 30, 2022

Beyond the Book Children’s Book & Art Festival is a free outdoor celebration that includes crafts, storytelling, and more. If you love books and also want to know about writing them, there will be author and illustrator workshops you may want to attend. Check out the collaborative art installations and the artisan food while you enjoy the festival.

7. Downtown Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo

  • Where: Downtown Raleigh, NC
  • When: May 1, 2022 & June 12, 2022 (both tentative dates)

The pandemic put the Downtown Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo on a bit of a hiatus, but it’s getting ready to return for Spring 2022. Organizers are hoping for two spring dates, one in May and one in June. The food truck rodeo features ½ mile of food trucks and restaurants that are spread out over 10 city blocks in downtown Raleigh. Admission is free, just be sure to bring your appetite!

8. Apex Peakfest

  • Where: Salem St., Downtown Apex, NC
  • When: May 7, 2022

If you’re looking for spring festivals in the Triangle Area, downtown Apex is the place to be the first weekend of May. The annual Apex Peakfest is the largest public event in Apex. There will be live music all day as well as all types of artists displaying their crafts and work. There will also be plenty of food to taste as you visit all of the different vendors.

9. Meet in the Street Festival

  • Where: Downtown Wake Forest, NC
  • When: May 7, 2022

Downtown Wake Forest, NC, will present the Meet in the Street Festival this Spring, full of children’s activities, live music, and plenty of food! Local artisans will be on hand with handmade crafts. There will also be boutique shopping. Enjoy live music as you walk around to the different vendors and sample food from the various food trucks that will be there. Be sure to check the event’s website for updated information on vendors and activities as they’re confirmed.

10. Artsplosure

  • Where: Downtown Raleigh, NC
  • When: May 21-22, 2022

Artists from Raleigh, Durham, NC, and surrounding areas will showcase their work during Artsplosure-The Raleigh Arts Festival. Over 175 visual artists are expected to be there displaying everything from ceramics to jewelry, metal, paintings, and more. There will also be live musical performances by local musicians and bands. This is a free festival, so be sure to stop down and check it out!
