What Size Dumpster Should I Rent?
It all depends on your needs, though we have dumpster sizes to accommodate nearly any situation. Will you be needing a dumpster for the short-term or long-term? How much debris do you anticipate accumulating over the course of your project? Will there be heavy, difficult-to-load materials? Use our helpful dumpster size guide to visualize your options and see which might best suit your needs. And if you’re still uncertain which to go with, contact a member of our staff who can provide a recommendation.
How Will My Rental Dumpster Be Delivered?
Our friendly drivers transport each roll-off dumpster by truck and can arrange drop-offs at nearly any North Carolina location. For temporary rentals, your dumpster will be delivered the day you specify and can be removed either when your project is completed or you no longer have a use for it. Our goal is to provide you with the most convenient, flexible rental possible, so you decide when we come back and pick it up.
Do I Have to be There When You Drop My Rental Dumpster Off?
No, you’re not required to be there, but we do typically recommend it. Once the dumpster is placed, you will not be able to move it on your own, so we typically prefer that you or a member of your staff is there during drop-off to advise on the most convenient placement. However, we understand that circumstances do not always allow for that, and our team is prepared to do everything we can to ensure a seamless and convenient dumpster drop-off as you need it.
What Can’t Go in My Dumpster?
While you can use roll-off dumpsters to dispose of many bulky, non-compactible materials, typically you can not use them to dispose of hazardous materials, paint, grease/oil, batteries, and tires. However, as your waste services provider, we can help you dispose of anything if you speak with our knowledgeable staff ahead of time. Please give us a call and let us know how we can help!
Residential & Commercial Roll-Off Dumpster Rental FAQ
How Do I Rent a Dumpster?
The simplest way to rent a dumpster is to contact your local dumpster rental company Wall Recycling, who owns the dumpster, the trucks, and employs the drivers.
There are two ways to schedule a rental with us: You can schedule a dumpster rental via the “order online” link on the website. The other option, if you have more questions, is to give us a call at (919) 582-7777. The call center is available Monday through Saturday. Visit our contact us page for hours of operation and more details.
How Long Can I Keep a Dumpster?
We have different packages that include different usage periods which range between 4 days and 21 days available online. If you need long-term and recurring service, please contact us for a quote. The most common usage periods are 7 days, 10 days & 14 days.
On average a dumpster is on-site for a project an average of 8-10 days before being picked up and generally, with each pickup, the “clock” starts again for that dumpster for another usage period.
How Far Ahead of Time Do I Have to Schedule?
For the best and most predictable service, schedule the dumpster well ahead of time – as soon as you know you need it. If you need to change the date or time, just call us to make the change and we’ll do it if we can – sometimes the schedule is full and changes will result in a delay since most of the work that we do is scheduled ahead of time.
If schedule details critical to the job change, then it is a good practice to:
- Schedule as early as possible
- Request a specific time
- Request notification when the driver is en route via either SMS or a phone call or both
What Do I Do if Something is Not Right or I Need to Make a Change?
For our direct customers, call us at (919) 582-7777 for change orders, questions, or concerns and we will work to address your concern. If we delivered the dumpster on behalf of an intermediary or a contractor, you will have to talk with them.
How Much Does it Cost to Rent a Dumpster?
The short answer: it depends. Pricing for our dumpster rentals varies based on how and where customers plan to use the dumpster. The primary factors that impact the price include:
- What is being disposed of? This could affect where we need to take the material to be dumped.
- How much material is being disposed? In most cases, we get charged by the ton at landfills – more weight equates to more cost.
- Where is the service location? Gas and time obviously differ based on distances.
- How long is the dumpster needed on-site? There is always an opportunity cost associated with additional time.
How Does Billing Work?
Your credit card holds the reservation and is charged upon delivery. Any additional overage fees will be charged after final pickup.
How Many Times and How Frequently Does the Dumpster Need to be Serviced?
More frequent servicing can equate to greater savings.
We offer flat rates for our dumpsters that include delivery, pickup, and trash disposal. Give us a call and we can provide you with exact pricing for your needs.
What Size Dumpster Do I Need?
The size of the dumpster you need will depend on the type of debris, total volume, and location. We offer 10, 15, 20, 30, and 40-yard roll-off dumpsters. For front-load dumpsters, we offer 4, 6, and 8-yard dumpsters.
How Should I Load My Dumpster?
When loading your dumpster, do not leave anything hanging over the sides or sticking through the top of the dumpster. This could delay your waste pickup because drivers cannot haul overloaded dumpsters.
Do I Need a Permit for a Dumpster?
You will not need a permit for private property (homeowner) but you may need permission from management if you live in a condo or neighborhood community.
You can place it where you want but if it’s on the street or there are any complaints it will be your responsibility to remove or move it.
Delivery & Pick Up
Do I Have to be Present When the Dumpster is Delivered/Picked Up?
While many customers prefer to be present upon delivery/pick up, it is not necessary. If you are not present, the driver will exercise their professional judgment to interpret the placement instructions you provide. If you have particular instructions or are worried about incidental damage then we recommend that you are on-site.
Will My Dumpster Pick-Up Service be Scheduled Automatically?
Wall Recycling does not auto-schedule pick-ups. You must call or email to get confirmation from us. We do it that way because we don’t know if your project is complete or not and we don’t want to pick the dumpster up before you are ready.
